Liz Cornwall
The audiences fell in love with Liz Cornwall’s portrayal of Eponine in NTC’s 2019 production of Les Miserables and she is back again in 2021 to reprise the role during our March run at the Concourse Theatre.
“I chose “On my own” from the Noteable Theatre Company’s upcoming return production of Les Miserables to sing for my Ghost light concert performance, as it’s the song that captured my love of musical theatre when I learned it as a 12-year-old”
“It is sung by Eponine, “On my own” offers imagery of longing for a relationship and encapsulates the agonising heartache of the realisation of being in love with someone who has given their heart to another”. she explains.
Known for being a brash, petty criminal, “On my own“ shows a raw and vulnerable side to Eponine’s character. She is brave, loyal, and kind. “I am extremely excited to join an amazingly talented cast and award-winning director Rod Herbert to revive the role of Eponine in Les Miserables” says Liz about her return to the role.
Since COVID struck, it has been challenging to set aside her passion for performing. She says “The magic of live theatre can not be replaced or experienced in other forms of entertainment so it has been important to maintain hope for performers and theatres during these uncertain times”.
Liz has performed in two Noteable Theatre productions. The most loved and recent performance being Eponine in Les Miserables 2019, along with her involvement in Wicked as Phannee in 2017.
Liz played the principal role of Susan in UNSW’s 2018 production of Crush, and was involved in several high school musical productions where she played Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar and Babe in The Pyjama Game.
This Episode of The Ghost Light Concert has been made possible with the support of Willoughby City Council and the Zenith Theatre, Chatswood.
